Description | The Altrincham division was created in 1885 from the much larger East Cheshire division, and comprised the civil parishes of Agden [near Lymm], Altrincham, Ashley, Ashton upon Mersey, Baguley, Bollington [near Lymm], Bowdon, Bramhall (until 1915), Carrington, Cheadle, Dunham Massey, Hale [near Altrincham], Handforth, High Legh, Lymm, Millington, Norbury [near Stockport] (until 1915), Northen Etchells, Northenden, Partington, Ringway (from 1900), Rostherne, Sale, Stockport Etchells, Thelwall (until 1915), Timperley, and Warburton. In 1945 the Altrincham division was abolished and incorporated into the Altrincham and Sale, Bucklow, and Knutsford divisions. |
