Description | Cheadle county constituency was created in 1949 from parts of the Macclesfield, Knutsford and Bucklow constituencies. It consisted of the urban districts of Bredbury and Romiley, Cheadle and Gatley, Hazel Grove and Bramhall, and Marple (see CCRg1). As a result of boundary alterations in 1971 Cheadle became a borough constituency consisting of the urban districts of Cheadle and Gatley, and Wilmslow. |
