Administrative History | The Mersey Power Company was established in 1911. Its objects were to acquire from G H Cox and H J Falk the undertaking authorised by the Runcorn Urban and Runcorn Rural Electric Lighting Order 1910; to acquire from Widnes Borough the undertaking authorised by the Widnes Electric Lighting Orders 1901-10; to take over the benefits and obligations of an agreement of 4 Jan 1910 between the Borough of Widnes, G H Cox and H J Falk, and the Salt Union; and to generate and sell electricity. It had a nominal capital value of £250,000 of which £50,755 was issued and paid up. Salt Union held £50,000. |
