Administrative HistoryThe choir began life as the Haslington and Crewe Green Womens Institute choir and was formed by Margaret Vernon in 1948. It later became the Haslington and District Ladies Choir. In 1969 the choir performed "The brilliant and the dark" at the Royal Albert Hall in London.Margaret Vernon retired from the choir due to ill health and her daughter Kathleen Vernon took over as conductor. The name changed in c.1991 to Vernon Ladies Choir.
