DescriptionHe directs that he is to be buried in the North aisle of St. John's church, Chester, and maked various bequests to the priests and persons attending his funeral; other pecuniary bequests are made to or for prisoners, officials of MALPAS church, officials of HASWALL [Hassall] church and the poor of the parish, officials and poor of OSWASTRE, repairs to Malpas church and especially to the aisle on the South side, and to St. John's church, Chester; he bequeathes a black gown and the residue of his clothing excepting various items, to William Larton and all his other servants in the household at the time of his decease; other items of clothing (described) are bequeathed to his nephew Rychard Brereton, son of his sister Dame E(lynor) wife of Rychard Brereton; he makes pecuniary bequests to George Warberton his godson, his cousin Ursula wife of Thomas Standeley, his cousin Randle Mainwarying of Karynes (ham) esq., Sir P(ercy that was the grey friar), Sir Urian Hoppley, Sir William Dikenson, the sick alms folk at the Malpas, his Aunt Q... and Katherine her daughter, Sir Rychard Fawkener, John (Que)tellt and Rose (<-- Unreadable Word -->); bed clothing and kitchen utensils at Haswall and Chester to William Larton and other servants, and the residue of his goods and chattels to Rycharde Brereton esq., who is appointed executor.
