Lanc.) and RUNCORNE, the passage through the Ford there in case the same River be fordable, and Boat-hires and moneys usually paid for transportation of passengers in the same boat and passengers through the same Ford (except and reserving the lands called the Boat lands and liberty and freedom of passage for the said Earl and Countess and such persons hereafter entitled to the reversion of the said premises and his/her/their children and menial servants residing at the capital messuage of Rocksavage in the same boat, and for his/her/their carts and carriages through the same Ford); for lives of the said John Chadwick, Thomas Chadwick son of Thomas Chadwick of Halton, yeoman, and Thomas Voste son of John Voste late of Runcorn deceased, at an annual rent of 13/4 and a heriot of 20/-; the said John Chadwick covenants to keep and maintain 2 Ferry boats at the said Ferry for the more speedy and ready transportation of passengers, and to keep the same in good and sufficient repair, and covenants that he and his workmen will be ready at all seasonable times to transport passengers over the said Ferry.
