DescriptionCOVENANT to Levy a Fine, by Sir John Savage, knt., and Thomas Standley, esq., with Sir Hughe Cholmondeley, Knt., and Amye his wife, against the said Sir Hughe and Dame Amye, the MANORS of BICKLEY, NORBURYE [Norbury] and ALHURSTE [Althurst}with the appurtenances, and all the messuages, lands, tenements, meadows, and all other hereditaments with their appurtenances of the said Sir Hughe and Dame Amye in BICKLEY, NORBURYE, ALHURSTE, and HELESTON alias HEYLASTON [Hetherson], and also all the MANORS, messuages, lands tenements, and other hereditaments, late the inheritance of Sir Rowland Hyll, knt., deceased, uncle of said Dame Amye, including 80 messuages, 20 tofts, 2 Water Mills, 2 dovehouses, 80 gardens, 1000 c. land, 200 a. meadow, 1000 a. pasture, 100 a. wood, 1000 a. heath and waste ground and £3 of Rent with the appurtenances in BYCKLEY, NORBURYE, ALHURSTE and HELASTON alias HETHESTON in Co. Chester. COVENANT also that, after the Recovery has been suffered, Sir Hughe, Dame Amye, Sir John and Thomas shall stand seised of the property to the Use of Sir Hughe and Dame Amye or the longest liver of them, and after the decease of Sir Hughe & Dame Amye to the Use of his s. & h. Hughe Cholmondeley, esq., and his lawful male issue, failing such issue to his 2nd son Richard Cholmondeley and his lawful male issue, failing which issue to his 3rd son Ranulph Cholmondeley and his lawful male issue, and failing such issue to the right heirs and their heirs of said Sir Hughe. Seals: Light brown, (i) a Roman soldier's head (Savage), (ii) a garb between letters 'I' & 'LT' (Stanley). Parchment.
