Descriptionreporting his move from Newcastle to Bywell-since however, he was faced with adverse weather conditions, men dying with cold, he had returned to Newcastle to intercept the enemy's passage in the east. He hopes that Sir John Ligonier will be able to stop them taking the other road. He reports that Handasyde and Ligonier are at Edinburgh and that together they should be able to trap the enemy between the three armies. Hexham
