Administrative History | William Greenall was a son of Thomas and Mary Greenall. Although initially involved in the brewing business with his brothers, the terms of his father's will suggest that he was not commited to it: '..in case my said son William shall..be dissatisfied with the provision ..made for him, or in anywise molest hinder or interrupt or disturb my sons Edward and Peter...in the management and conduct of the several breweries and other concerns...or shall refuse to take an active part in the management of the said breweries and concerns..' he was to receive only £1000, and have no further part in the estate. Although nominated as an executor with his brothers, he was not involved in the probate. When he died intestate on 13 Mar 1817, he was described as of Sotton, gentleman. His brother Edward was executor of his estate. |
