| Description | Congleton Primitive Methodist Circuit was formed in 1839. Following the Methodist Union in 1932 the Congleton Circuit was known as Congleton No.2 Circuit and later as Kinsey Street Circuit. In 1969 Kinsey Street Circuit united with Wagg Street (former Wesleyan) Circuit to form the Congleton Methodist Circuit. At the same time Mow Cop (Ref. EMS 95) and Newtown (Ref. EMS 93) Chapels were transferred to Biddulph and Mow Cop Circuit, and Kent Green (Ref. EMS 92) was transferred to Tunstall Circuit. |
