Administrative History | TERMS OF REFERENCE The Local Plan Working Group (LPWG) is appointed by the Cabinet (or Cabinet Member)
Its core purpose is: To develop proposals and make recommendations to Cabinet in relation to Part 2 of the Local Plan and associated documents and guidance.
Core Principles The Panel operates in a way that reflects the core principles of: 1) open, fair and transparent decision making 2) tackling inequality and promoting opportunity 3) delivering safer communities for our residents and in particular the young and vulnerable 4) best value for residents 5) efficiency and effectiveness
Composition The LPWG comprises 7 members (4:3).
Operating Principles 1. The LPWG is advisory and any decision making flowing as a result of the work of the LPWG is be made in accordance with planning legislation and the Council's Constitution. The Constitution requires Development Plan Documents to be formulated by the Cabinet and adopted by Council. Documents which are not Development Plan Documents shall be formulated and adopted by Cabinet. 2. The LPWG Panel operates as a task and finish group which ceases to operate once its core purpose has been achieved. It meets 6 weekly or as required by the chair. and is supported by the relevant by Head of Service or their nominees. It meets in public and may be web cast at the discretion of the chairman. Its minutes are published on the Council's website
Task Groups LPWG Panel may constitute Task Groups as they consider necessary to undertake the work of the Panel with no limitation on who may be appointed to them. The LPWG Panel should endeavour to publish on the Council's website details of the membership and terms of reference of each Task Group and requires periodical progress reports from Task Groups. |
