Description	Registers: Baptisms 1889-1969, Marriages 1914-1969. Records other than registers 1882-1970.
Administrative History	Opened in 1882 on Claughton Road as a chapel to Birkenhead Holy Trinity. A new building was opened in 1889 on Park Road East, which became a parish church serving part of Birkenhead in 1914. In 1969 its parish was united with Birkenhead St. Peter, and after 1974 it was part of the parish of Birkenhead Priory. St. Matthew's closed in 1975.
