DescriptionExamination of Catherine Norbury of Over Alderley says she was born there, then hired by William Micock of Macclesfield and stayed with him for only eleven weeks, then George Birtles of Over Alderley for three weeks, then Harry Ardern in Over Alderley for 14 weeks, then Thomas Henshall in Nether Alderley for 7 months. Then Robert Warburton in Duckinfield for 5 months. Then went to Prestbury and spun cotton for her livelyhood for about 7 months. Then she was hired into the service of Thomas Jackson of Copesthorne for 11 months before returning to Prestbury to spin cotton and has not since been a hired servant nor done any to to gain settlement. Believed her parents settlement was in Over Alderley. On 22 December last was delivered a male bastard child in Manchester and that James Warren of Cheadle, a butcher, is the father.
