Administrative History	Opened in 1838 as a chapel to Chester St. Oswald. In 1843 it became a parish church serving Newton by Chester, part of the township of Hoole, and part of the City of Chester (formerly served by Chester St. Oswald, Chester St. John and Plemstall parishesr). In 1872 the areas outside the city were transferred to Hoole All Saints. Between 1973 and 2003 it was part of a unified parish for the city of Chester.
