Administrative History | Rainow was an ancient chapelry in Prestbury parish, which in 1863 it became the parish church for part of Rainow.
Saltersford opened in 1770 as a chapel to Prestbury which became a parish church in 1864, serving Kettleshulme and part of Rainow. In 1921 Kettleshulme was transferred to Taxal parish, and the remaining area was united with the parish of Rainow.
In 1973 the combined parish was united with Macclesfield Forest. |
