Administrative History	Opened in 1884 as a chapel to the parish of Hope (Derbyshire). Transferred to the parish of Buxton (Derbyshire) in 1898, becoming a parish church for part of Fernilee in 1905. In 1966 the parish was united with the Cheshire parish of Taxal, and transferred to the Diocese of Chester. In 1986 the united parish of Taxal with Fernilee was renamed Whaley Bridge.
