Administrative History | Opened in 1849 as a chapel to Bidston. In 1876 it became a parish church for parts of Claughton with Grange, Birkenhead, Oxton and Tranmere (formerly in Bidston, Birkenhead St. John, Oxton St. Saviour and Tranmere St. Catherine parishes). In 1958 its parish was united with Claughton St. Michael, and in 1985 the parish was renamed Birkenhead Christ Church. For later records, see also Claughton St. Michael. |
