| Description | Papers relating to Council meetings were kept on annual files. The first file in the series resembles the Assembly files in format with petitions and letters and papers relating to Council business, including Council elections and city quarter sessions. The series which survives from 1854 onwards is arranged in separate bundles for each Council meeting within the annual file. Each bundle generally contains the printed notice of the meeting; the agenda; apologies for non attendance; correspondence; reports; and draft resolutions relating to Council business. A statement of attendance at Council and committee meetings is generally appended to the annual file. |
