| Description | Following the Local Government Act, 1933, a separate series recording the oath of allegiance and the
judicial oath of each mayor was begun. The series ended in 1968, when under the Justices Act, 1967,
the mayor was no longer an ex officio justice of the peace and did not take the two oaths, but merely
subscribed to the statutory declaration. |
