Description | This series consists of apprenticeship indentures, the formal contract between master and apprentice, which apparently were not returned to the apprentice. Many are endorsed with a note of their enrolment by the clerk of the pentice. Indentures dating from 1604 to 1783 have been bound into two volumes; there are also unbound apprenticeship indentures dating from 1780 to 1915. There are gaps in the series. |
