DescriptionIn order to hasten the completion of work on the new haven, a rate to be assessed on the whole City, and collected quarterly by the Stewards of the various Occupations, the Sheriffs acting as Treasurers; one member of the Assembly is to be chosen each week to oversee the work on the haven and to account for expenditure. The Assessors are appointed.
Jan. 16th The Mayor is to appoint certain persons to "gether the benevolence of the well-disposed at the churches and other places within the City," for the repair of the pavement outside the Northgate.
(ZA/B/1/118). Robert Jones, Alderman Adam Goodman, Symon Montford, and William Dymock, merchants, are licensed as keepers of wine taverns, in accordance with the statute of 7.E.6.
No person to sue a fellow citizen in any foreign court without the assent of the Mayor and Assembly.
Forty-four names are copied at the foot, with the following note after the first six: - "except one order betwene the Mercers and Irenmongers."
