DescriptionThe new workhouse for the poor is to be erected at the Quarry outside the Northgate, the present tenant, Randle Leche, merchant, (on a sixty year lease) having been bought out for £20 and provided with land at the Gorsestacks.
Thomas Booth, wright, is to be employed to move the Corn Market House to its new site.
