DescriptionAug. 15th. Persons appointed to appear before the Commissioners, to submit the evidence favourable to the Retailers in their dispute with the Mere Merchants.
Sept. 11th. The offer by an anonymous well-wisher of a gift of £100 for the poor of the City, on certain other conditions, (mainly directed to the limiting of tippling in the City) is considered. Resolved that it be suggested to the well-wisher, through Christopher Goodman [preacher], who is acting as intermediary, that the gift be made without conditions, but that with the conditions it is unacceptable.

Appointment of John Shawe as collector of prize fuel, a post vacated by the death of Hugh Gillam.
At the request of Alexander Cotes, debated, but no decision reached, what answer should be given to Sir Christopher Hatton, who had questioned the claim of the City to the towers and buildings of the Eastgate.
The request of John Hanky, Alderman, for a fee farm of ground near the gallows at Boughton, to be granted if found suitable.
The stairs in Watergate Street to be repaired, in accordance with a former order.
The Mayor to speak with the Commissioners during the next Assize week, concerning the Merchants' and Retailers' dispute.
