DescriptionArrears from the poor rate to be collected.
The Danish rye, purchased from one Patrick Halam out of the profits of a former bargain of rye, to be distributed or sold to the poor at the discretion of those persons responsible for the original profit.
(ZA/B/1/218v) Various impecunious persons have not paid their contributions to the expenses of Derby's late visit; some ordered to pay the full amount, some half, some excused.
Pointed out, that some persons not assessed at all, would have been better able to pay; the Mayor and his bretheren to suggest that they make voluntary contributions towards the upkeep of the highways.
The Sheriffs to collect the fines and make the usual payments.
The petition of Thurstan Holinshed for a lease of the Town Ditch and buildings at the Eastgate, late in the occupation of John Smith, Alderman, deceased, to be considered.
(ZA/B/1/219). William Helly, servant to the Mayor, to be admitted paying 40/-.
Middleton to have his loan extended for a further year.
