Description | April 19th. Election of David Dymocke as Alderman, in place of Ferdinando, Earl of Derby. A suit commenced against two former Sheriffs, Allen and Broster, [1591-2] by Sir Richard Bulkeley, concerning dues levied on a consignment of wine, to be conducted as a City cause provided they first pay the £15 owing for their collection of fines. The suit is also laid against the present Mayor and Alderman Richard Bavand; their case to be conducted as a City cause. The petition of Richard Treneild, paver, deferred, to have a patent for the paving of the streets. May 21st. Election of Christopher Conway, goldsmith, as Councilman in place of Rauf Radford. On election days, Aldermen to wear their scarlet or murrey gowns, and all other free citizens their best clothes. Richard Richardson, cutler, to be one of the new street surveyors. |
