DescriptionAssessors are appointed to raise the sum of £100, which the City is directed by Privy Seal to loan to the Government. The money is assessed, collected, and delivered to Sir Hugh Cholmundley, the local Collector.
Randle Eaton ordered to pay £10 arrears of rent for the toll corn, and to find sureties for its regular payment in future.
Thomas Offley of London has agreed to send two boat-loads of corn, provided the City pay the wages of the two pilots.
The Companies to report to the Mayor, what money they can raise for the provision of corn.
At the petition of the Smiths and Pewterers, Richard Barnes to be persuaded to enter their Company.
The petition rejected of the Sheriffs' four officers, for an increase in wages; considered that if they are thrifty and work hard, they have a "sufficient lyvinge". (Note their suggestion, that they alone to be attorneys in the Pentice Court.).
Robert Brerewood asks for money, spent in the previous year by himself and Thomas Lynyall as Muragers, to be repaid.
