DescriptionDaniel Greatbatch, ironmonger, elected Alderman in place of William Sparke, deceased.
Randle Bennett, shoemaker, elected Councilman in the place of Daniel Greatbatch.
It was ordered that William Whittingham should be free of the Company of Innholders; he was to pay them 40s. fine.
In consideration of "the undue meanes which hath lately been practized in the obtaininge of voices in the late eleccion of twoe Cittizens of this Cittie to serve in the Parliament for the said citty" and to avoid similar irregularities in the future, it was ordered that a certificate of the proceedings should be drawn up in the names of the Mayor and Citizens, and should be presented to Parliament.
