DescriptionWilliam Seale the elder, butcher, chosen by ballot to be one of Vernon's almsmen, in the place of Thomas Knye, deceased.
Robert Denson, John Sproston and John Wynn were discharged from being Common Councilmen as they were "not in a capacity to doe the duty of their places".
Thomas Cooper the younger, ironmonger, elected Councilman in the stead of Richard Johnson, apothecary, deceased; William Hewitt, ironmonger, in the stead of John Sproston; Jonathan Gouldson, maltster, in the stead of John Wynn.
Upon the petition of many freemen and after a long debate it was ordered that the last-mentioned petition should be further debated and should be put to the vote. After further debate it was unanimously ordered that Jonathan Ridge, Alderman, should be degraded and discharged from being an Alderman and from being of the City's counsel.
William Johnson, cook, admitted to the freedom, paying 40s.
It was ordered that a piece of plate already provided should be presented to Lieutenant Colonel Witter as a token of thankfulness for favours done to the City.
