Description | The Mayor informed that Mr William Drinkwater had resigned his office of Alderman. He was, therefore, discharged of the place. Richard Broster the elder, tanner, elected Alderman in the stead of Mr Drinkwater. Richard Wright, feltmaker, elected Councilman in the stead of William Higgenson, butcher, deceased. Thomas Throppe and Thomas Cowper, Aldermen and Justices of the Peace of the City, were appointed Auditors, in addition to the persons nominated by a former order. The Auditors, or any three of them, were to meet in the Inner Pentice every Tuesday and Thursday until all accounts had been audited. The accounts of Alderman Bennett, Alderman Gerrard Jones, Mr William Wilson, Mr Golborne and Mr Davenporte, and all disbursements payable by the City since August 1st, 1659, should be audited by Alderman Greatbache, Mr Parnell, Mr Witter and Mr Street, and the accounts settled with all convenient speed. It was referred to the consideration of the Mayor, the Recorder and the Justices of the Peace to settle and regulate all fees to be taken in all the City's courts, so that a table thereof might be prepared, and be kept in the Pentice Office. |
