The petition of Thomas Walker, clothworker, that he might have £25 of Sir Thomas White's money continued to him for a further ten years was not granted as this portion had been promised to Thomas Trollocke, weaver. George Wilson, gentleman, petitioned that he might have a new fee-farm of the salt grass on surrendering his old fee-farm. It was ordered that he should have this for the annual rent of 30s., and that the bounds of the salt grass should be ascertained by the Mayor and Treasurers. Mr George Wilson and Mr John Acton were granted liberty to erect a work between the starting stone and the new Tower there. They were to be allowed twenty marks out of the Treasury which the Treasurers were to pay as this sum was expended on labour for the work. It was ordered that the cistern in the conduit of the City should be taken up by the Treasurers and the lead used on the Eastgate. |
