DescriptionJohn Pemberton, shoemaker, elected Councilman in the stead of Thomas Billington, deceased. He took the oaths and subscribed the declaration.
It was asked whether the fine for being Sheriff without having first been Leavelooker should be £5, in accordance with a former order, or 20 marks according to another order lately made. It was resolved that the first order should stand and that the second should be repealed.
George Mainwaring, merchant, desired that a parcel of ground lying near the new Tower, and viewed by the Treasurers, might be granted to him in exchange for another parcel of ground formerly leased to him by the City. The Treasurers had certified that the exchange would be convenient for all concerned, and therefore the ground was granted.
It was ordered that £9: 11s: 6d, which remained due to Thomas Simpson and Owen Ellis, Sheriffs in 1669, for conveying prisoners from Chester to Cardiff, should be paid to them by the Treasurers.
