Description | The Mayor, the Recorder and Aldermen William Crompton, Richard Bird, John Poole and William Streete, were elected auditors of the Treasurers' accounts for the past two years. It was ordered that the entry in the Assembly Book of 8th September last for moving the Recorder to reside in the City or else to resign his office should be expunged. It was agreed that William Bristow, junior, might have the £25 of Sir Thomas White's money which was formerly held by Thomas Bird. Upon the petition of Ralph Bingley, tallowchandler, it was agreed that he might have a lease for twenty-one years of the rooms over the Eastgate, for the yearly rent (ZA/B/2/180) of 20s., saving to the City free passage over the gate to the walls. Thomas Adams was to be admitted to the freedom and was to pay 40s. within a week. |
