Description | Benjamin Willcocke, innholder, was to have a lease for seven years of the messuage with appurtenances in Bridge street called the signe of the Angell at a yearly rent of 40s. Thomas Simpson, Alderman, was to have a lease for three lives of the messuage with appurtenances formerly in the possession of Robert Okell, near the Dee side under St. John's Church, and also of about a quarter of an acre of land lying about the said house, at the ancient rent, in satisfaction of £20 owing by the City. The Mayor was to have a lease for three lives of a void piece of ground against St. Anns lane on which to build a barn, for 3s: yearly rent. John Brerewood, esq., was ordered to account with the Treasurers for all his arrears of rent and to pay them before a week on the following Monday. Gawen Hudson, Alderman, was ordered to account with the Treasurers and with Robert Fletcher, late Leavelooker, for sums which he owed the City. He was to make payment before a week on the following Monday. It was ordered that actions should be prosecuted in the Portmote Court, in the name of the Mayor and Citizens, against Nathaniel Williamson, Thomas Wright and Robert Fletcher for recovery of £10, according to a late Assembly order. Thomas Wright, ironmonger, was to have a lease for twenty-one years in reversion, after the expiration of Thomas Pulford's lease, of a house and lands in Gilden Sutton, on payment of £30, (ZA/B/2/187) and at the ancient rent. The £30 was to be used to discharge the debt owing to Thomas Simpson, Alderman, and the residue to be devoted to payment of the debts contracted for the repair of the Northgate. |
