George Atkinson, bookseller, was to have his freedom on payment of £50 within sixteen days. It was ordered that £20 of this £50 should be paid to Randle Hulme in part of £40 agreed to be paid to him by order of 13th October, 1674. Roger Jackson was to have his freedom on payment of £10 before the following Tuesday. Henry Standish, brasier, was to have his freedom on payment of £20 to the Treasurers, and £5 to the Company of Smiths, Cutlers, Pewterers, Cardmakers and Plumbers to recompense them for their expenses in defending their rights and privileges against him (ZA/B/2/188) It was ordered that the Treasurers should pay £8: 14s: 11d to Henry Johnson, joiner, out of fines received for the freedom. Thomas Williams petitioned to be admitted tenant of the lands in Minera devised to the City by Owen Jones. It was ordered that the Mayor, Sheriffs and Treasurers, or any three of them, should view the lands and report their value. The petitioner might have a lease for seven years, with an exception of all mines. The Recorder was desired to enquire into William Croughton's title to two little shops in Northgate street, and to report to the next Assembly. The Treasurers were to view the ground desired by Elizabeth Lemon, widow, and to report whether it might be granted without prejudice to the highway. |
