DescriptionHenry Jackson, clerk to Sir Peter Pindar, bart., was to be admitted to the freedom if he paid £15 before the following Friday.
The Treasurers were to pay 40s. to Owen Shone, barber-chirurgeon, for the cure of the broken leg of Richard Pemberton, "a poore distracted man" maintained at the City's charge.
John Whitehead was confirmed as the City's day Bellman.
The petitions of William Mercer, tallow-chandler, and William Hulton concerning encroachments were read but not granted.
The Treasurers were to find out what arrears of rent were due to the City from Edward Gray, bricklayer, and how much he had spent in suits concerning parcels of ground which he held by lease from the City.
The Mayor's enclosure at the clay pits was reported to contain 50 yards square more than was granted to him. It was resolved that he might have a lease for three lives or twenty-one years of this extra ground for 8s: 4d yearly rent, provided that he should first make a convenient watering place there.
