Description | It was ordered that all who were absent at the call should pay their fines. It was ordered that as much of the ancient plate of the City as would amount to £100 should be delivered to Lord Capell for His Majesty's service, on condition that the soldiers should be removed from this City to quarter elsewhere by the following Monday. If this amount of plate would not content him, Mr. Mayor and his brethren were to decide what other plate should be given. (ZA/B/2/65). Since Richard Kirkeman, Christopher Mason and Peter Hatton, by reason of the great losses they had lately sustained, were unable to pay their fines of £20 each, it was ordered that they should be admitted, provided that each paid £10 before the following Saturday night. The Assembly desired that Mr. Richard Dutton would repair to Oxford to present to His Majesty a petition from the Mayor and Aldermen in answer to his most gracious letter. The Treasurers were ordered to furnish Mr. Dutton with money for his journey. |
