Description | Thomas Prenton, mariner, was appointed principal workman for the demolition of the Causey near the Dee Mills. He was authorized, with the consent of the Overseers, to take and pay for labourers, boats and the necessary materials; and his disbursements would be met by Jonathan Ridge, one of the Sheriffs. It was ordered that £15, then in the hands of Mr. Crompton, to be paid for a prise of wine, should be paid to Jonathan Ridge towards discharging the workmen's wages and other charges. Further charges should be defrayed by the next Compositions made with the City for prise wines. Three other persons were added to the number of Overseers. |
