DescriptionMembers of the Assembly then absent without excuse were to be fined.
Daniel Greatbatch, who had compounded with the Leavelookers for a small vessel of barley (the goods of a "Strainger") should pay five measures for the custom.
It was ordered that the Macebearer should repair to the factor or agents who sell "in the Friers" the corn which was imported by Mr. Drew. He should give them notice that Drew must appear before the Mayor before Saturday next to perform the engagement which he made in the Pentice concerning his payment of duties and customs. If Drew failed to appear an action should be entered against him in the Pentice in the name of the Mayor and Citizens, and 60 measures of the corn should be seized.
(ZA/B/2/90). It was ordered that Mr. Drew and all other foreigners who had goods in cellars or other places within the City should bring these goods to the Common Hall for sale to freemen only. Persons who disobeyed should have locks set upon their doors so that they might not sell. The goods of all foreigners and strangers which should come to the City for sale, must be taken to the Common Hall.
Ralph Hind was admitted as one of John Vernon's almsmen, in succession to Edward Bromeley, deceased.
Richard Westhead was appointed Schoolmaster of Farnworth School, Lancs., in succession to Henry Hill, who had "betaken himselfe to the Ministry".
All persons who had any City monies in their hands were to bring in perfect accounts within fourteen days.
