Description | In his petition Randle Richardson, Macebearer, alleged that his predecessor, Randle Ince, had enjoyed the tolls of the several gates as an augmentation of his wages. Accordingly it was ordered that from the following October 23rd Randle Richardson should receive the tolls, stallages and other duties which Randle Ince had received, for the usual yearly rent of £8 to the Treasurers and 20s. to each of the four Sheriffs' officers. Major Philip Eyton was to be admitted to the freedom and was to pay £20 and give a piece of plate worth £5. |
