Description | Petition of William Hincks and Hugh Leigh, Leavelookers, that they had been told there was an ancient custom, dut to the City, of 3d. for every beast, for Irish cattle brought into the City to be sold. As it had not been levied recently, they asked the Assembly what course should be taken. Note that it was agreed that the 'ancient books' should be examined to see what was done in the past, and it should be discovered what toll for cattle was taken in other places. |
