Description | Petition of George Bennett, merchant and Keeper of the Common Hall, complaining that lately most of the merchandise brought to the City had been taken to private houses and secretly sold, instead of first being taken to the Common Hall to be pitched, contrary to the orders of the Assembly, and asking that the matter be considered and that the Leavelookers might assist in recovering both his and the City's rights. Note that the former orders were to be put into execution. |
