Description | Petition of Evan Edwards, Esq. stating that he and his brother, who had been Mayor of the City, had his house called the Globe burned down by the enemies of Parliament, to the damage of £1000 and more. Since then the ground had lain waste. Hearing that Assembly had consented that strangers might have that place to build upon at £3 a year, he asks that he may be abated of his fee farm rent rather than any stranger, and that his rent may be abated to 10s a year. Note of voting re the same: 'to pay the £3 formerly disbersed, to the Treasurers by Mich. next.' |
