Description | Petition of John Wynn, ironmonger, that in the mayoralty of Mr. William Edwards, about eleven years ago, he lent £10 for the use of the City, to be bestowed upon Mr. Evans, a minister, but he had been repaid 26s. 8d. only, viz: 10s. from Mr. Recorder, 10s. from Mr. Leigh and 6s. 8d. from Mr. Jones. Shortly after the loan the great sickness happened so that most of the citizens fled, and as other troubles have befallen him, he asks that the remainder be repaid. Note: that the money should be paid out of the treasury. |
