Description | Petition of Mary Cappur, widow, stating that in 26 Elizabeth a fee farm was granted by the Mayor and Citizens to William Knight, gentleman, of a parcel of ground, towards Hoole rake, near Cockfight Hill, 36 yards by 20 yards, adjoining a close called the Justing croft on the south part thereof between the close and Hoole rake, where Mr. Knight built a barn of two bays. The premises were conveyed to the petitioner until, in the late wars, the barn was pulled down and part of the materials were used for building 'Century houses' for the defence of the City, and the parcel of land is since enclosed in the Justing Croft. She asks possession of the land or consideration for it. Note of order. |
