| Description | This is a very intersting example of ironwork wrought by Thomas de Leqthone in the 13 century. The Charecter of it's hinges is very like that of the hinges of the press in the Church of St Jaques at Liege, which are figured in Mr J Starkie Gardners Ironwork. He writes: 'The distribution of richly stamped Ironwork of the French type in Englaned is rather remarkable and the specimens are limited in number that they might have been the work of a single smith. |
