DescriptionThis pair of colours were presented to the regiment by Sir Charles Napier on the 18th November 1850 at Dugshai India. These were the third set the regiment had possessed. The second set were kept by Sir Charles, and are at the present time (1903) in the possession of the representatives of the McMurdo family. The Napier pair of colours were handed over to the Cathedral Authorities on the 30th June 1879, but they had been in their possession since the previous April. August 1904. The second set are now in the garrison church Portsmouth.
