| Description | Brian Walton was born in Yorkshire, was educated at Peterhouse, Cambridge, and became Chaplain to Charles[ I,] who elevated him soon after the restoration to the See of Chester (1660). He died in London 1661 and was buried in St Paul's of which Cathedral he had been some time prebendary. He was among the4 ablest scholars of oriental languages of his time. |
