DescriptionThis was a pale buff silk with the Union in the upper (compton?), in the centre of the colour, a shield with the number of the rank of the regiment. These colours accompanied the expedition's against Louisburgh, Cape Breton, Quebec, Bunkers Hill etc. The above colour is known as the Wolfe colour - General Wolfe...... when he received his mortal wound fell into the arms of Lew Brown of the grenadier company of the (continues on page 134).
