Description(continued from page 133) 22nd regiment and expired, and tradition says was wrapped in the 22nd regimental colour. These colours were presented to the regiment 1st July 1757 and were the first set of colours the regimant possessed. They were formally handed over to the Cathedral Authorities on October 28th 1876 and were hung at that time near the west door. They were handed to the Dean (Howson) by Captain. Blain - although they had been in the possession of the Dean & Chapter some time prior to this.
