TitlePhotograph: South-west corner of the cloisters.
Date1908
DescriptionThe Norman doorway facing the south cloister formerly gave access to a passage leading to the Abbots house which, at a later period, became the Bishop's Palace. In the middle of this doorway we find one of the shafts of the former vaulting; and this shows that the doorway could not haver been used at the time when the vaulting was constructed.
